Rainy friday

You don't often hear about that or those or these rainy fridays because they (fridays) are so close to the weekend that people don't much care if it rains or not on friday, they get to do other things for the next two days.
Unless, of course, they are in the entertainment industry, like me, then that means that most of your work is done on the weekends.
Currently in the Blue Man schedule, we have three shows on saturday and sunday and two shows on Friday.
that's a lot of shows for the weekend, and sometimes our crew works them all. That a long day.
When do they get to go out and do mundane stuff that doesn't involve wearing black?
What is the purpose of this diatribe?
I'm not quite sure.
Lately I've reaquainted myself with the dictionary and relearning words I should know but don't exactly know the definition of.
Words like Obdurate and Despot. Finding the alternate meanings or true meanings is sometimes quite rewarding.
What words were you suprised to find the meaning of?
I guess I wasn't suprised by the meaning, just found out more about them.
Like further and farther, same word each spelling is correct, according to Webster.
Words, words, words.
